I was working in the garden when it came to me, why do we, or rather I, tend to feel funny congratulating myself on making headway in my spiritual journey. It is because of teachings on spiritual pride. Do not mountaineers, reaching summits look at the horizon and feel very good about attaining their goals? So do I. It is spiritual pride, and pride comes before a fall. Just the very fact we do not want a fall is pride. Humility is truth.
